We want to take a moment to share a little bit about who we are. Whether you’re new to our work or have been following us for a while, here’s a snapshot of what makes our organization unique.

At the Health Education Alliance of Louisiana (HEAL), our work is rooted in a simple belief: every child deserves the opportunity to be healthy, supported, and successful. As a nonprofit organization serving at-risk children across our state, we are committed to eliminating health and educational disparities that stand in the way of student success.

Who Is HEAL?

• HEAL stands for Health Education Alliance of Louisiana.

• We are a non-profit (501c3) serving the state of Louisiana.

• Our mission is to eliminate health and educational disparities for at-risk children.

• We help bridge the gap between education leaders and health professionals.

• We consult with schools on integrating and providing health care in school settings.

• We work directly with students, families, and schools/districts to promote health and academic success.

• We teach districts how to secure federal Medicaid reimbursement for eligible health program costs.

• We engage in ongoing advocacy at the state and federal levels on behalf of Louisiana’s students, families, and schools.
